Short sea shipping is a logical extension of our inland shipping activities.
We can offer the traditional coasters as well as the more specialized River-Sea-vessels. The latter are small enough to travel inland on inland waterways.
The Short Sea service ranges from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea.
Typical cargoes include grain, fertilisers, steel, coal, salt, stone, scrap and minerals (all in bulk) and containers.
Our Short Sea service supports "Motorways of the Sea", the concept of the European Commission to alleviate congestion, decrease air pollution, and provide overall cost savings to the shipper and a government. Shipping goods by ship (one 4000dwt vessel is equivalent to between 100-200 trucks) is far more efficient and cost-effective than road transport and is much less prone to theft and damage.
